Join WYXR host (“Let’s Get Lost”) and Memphis jazz/R&B guitarist Joe Restivo and Stax Executive Director Jeff Kolath for a listening room session and discussion about drummer Chico Hamilton’s lone release on Stax Records, “The Master,” which features members of Little Feat as the rhythm section. Effortlessly blending swing, Latin, R&B, and avant-garde influences, “The Master” is further proof that even as Stax Records was on the verge of closing, the label was still releasing brilliant, original, and influential music.
